Privacy and personal data
EQAR is committed to user privacy. As an international not-for-profit organisation registered in Belgium (AISBL/IVZW), we respect the Belgian law of 8 December 1992 regarding the protection of personal data and the European legislation on the subject. Therefore you have the right to access your personal data and if necessary to rectify them.
EQAR only keeps data for the time necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. EQAR takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorised access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
EQAR will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to third parties.
Website analytics: Like most website operators, EQAR collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. EQAR's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use its website. From time to time, EQAR may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g. in its Annual Reports or Self-Evaluation Reports.
EQAR also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. EQAR does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information to third parties. IP addresses are stored with the last byte masked (e.g. 192.168.100.xxx).
EQAR uses Piwik, an open-source web analytics platform. Our Piwik installation honours your browser's "Do Not Track" setting. You may opt out of tracking your visits to this website using the checkbox below.
Email: If you have registered for the EQAR newsletter and have supplied your email address, EQAR may occasionally send you an email about EQAR's work or recent developments in quality assurance of higher education.
Cookies: A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. This website uses cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of this website, and their website access preferences. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using EQAR's website, with the drawback that certain features of EQAR's websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
Changes: Although most changes are likely to be minor, EQAR may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in EQAR's sole discretion. EQAR encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
