EQAR moves to new offices
10 November 2009: As from 9 November 2009, EQAR is located at the newly rented premises on Oudergemselaan/Avenue d'Auderghem 36, 1040 Brussels.
Register Committee report on the first two application rounds
30 September 2009: The Register Committe has presented a report on the first two rounds of applications to the EQAR General Assembly on 30 September 2009 in Stockholm. The report, which has been introduced to EQAR's members by the Register Committee Chair, Mr Justice Bryan McMahon, gives an account of the Register Committee's work and the general challenges faced.
Statement on the European Commission Report on Quality Assurance
30 November 2009: In a statement on the European Commission's Report on progress in quality assurance of higher education (published in September), EQAR welcomes that the Report acknowledges its activities to enhance transparency and trust of quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
The statement sets out how EQAR supports the European dimension in quality assurance of higher education, comments on the European quality assurance infrastructure and underlines the importance of reliable and transparent external quality assurance as a basis for transparency of quality in higher education.
European Commission report on quality assurance
24 September 2009: The European Commission has today published a progress report on quality assurance in higher education, looking at developments in external quality assurance at national and European level throughout the past three years. EQAR is encouraged to further its activities to increase transparency and trust in quality assurance.
27 July 2009: Applications from 8 quality assurance agencies received
In the third round of applications, eight quality assurance agencies working in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) have submitted an application for inclusion on the Register. The Register Committee, EQAR's independent body deciding on inclusion on the Register, will consider these applications at its next meeting on 30 September 2009.
Nine quality assurance agencies, operating in twelve European countries in total, have been included on the Register since April 2009. The next deadline for applications will be in early February 2010.

11 June 2009: Updated Guide for Applicants available
Following up on initial feedback gathered from those quality assurance agencies who have already used the EQAR Guide for Applicants to make an application, an updated version has been published on 11 June 2009. While EQAR's criteria for inclusion remain unchanged, some explanations have been revised or extended for greater clarity.
EQAR General Assembly held on 25 March 2009 in Praha
EQAR's members convened for their 2nd General Assembly on 25 March 2009 in Praha. EQAR's first Annual Report, covering activities in 2008, was presented to members in Praha and will be published in late April 2009.
As the new representative of ESU, Bruno Carapinha was by-elected to the Executive Board. He will take over as President of the Executive Board from 1 April 2009.
16 February 2009: New EQAR office officially opened
The new EQAR office on Avenue d'Auderghem/Oudergemselaan (Brussels/Etterbeek) was officially opened with a reception on 16 February 2009. Approximately 40 Brussels-based partners followed the invitation to celebrate this important step in the development of EQAR. more...
Application deadlines
The deadline for applications for inclusion on EQAR to be considered at the Register Committee's April meeting has passed. The next deadline will be in late July/early August, applications will be considered in September/October.
