Can higher education institutions choose a suitable EQAR-registered agency?
foreign higher education institutions(whether public or private) which seek accreditation in Luxembourg must have their programme and institutional evaluation carried out by an EQAR-registered agency.
Public institutions, i.e. University of Luxembourg has a 'self-accrediting status' and does not fall into the requirement of this legal provision.
Eligibility criteria for foreign agencies:
EQAR registration. The agency is selected by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
Conditions for the agencies’ work:
The agency has to follow the accreditation criteria set out in the Regulation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (see below, art. 4).
Recognition of review outcomes :
The final decision is taken by the Ministry based on the result of the accreditation procedure.
