Can higher education institutions choose a suitable EQAR-registered agency?
Yes, Kazakh higher education institutions can choose for their mandatory external quality assurance an EQAR-registered agency.
Eligibility requirements for foreign agencies: Foreign agencies have to be listed in the national Kazakh register. To be listed, agencies need to be registered in EQAR and to also meet the following requirements:
1) to have the status of a legal entity in the organizational and legal form of a non-profit organization;
2) to be a full member of the international network of quality assurance;
3) to have the resources necessary to fulfill the obligations on accreditation of educational organizations, educational programs;
4) to have the necessary staffing;
5) to have accreditation standards (regulations) that establish requirements for the accreditation procedure.
Conditions for the agencies’ work (e.g. criteria to be used): own criteria.
Recognition of reviews carried out by foreign agencies: automatic.
Yes, Kazakh higher education institutions can opt for programme accreditation of joint degrees by an EQAR registered agency using the European Approach.
